Crystal Singing Bowls, Quality and China

In the past year other websites have started to offer imported crystal singing bowls from China. Be aware that these are made of inferior sand and quartz and as a result, the quality of the vibration, the healing qualities are inferior. You’ll here it and you’ll feel it.

Crystal Singing BowlsOver the past year I have be contacted numerous times by several different manufacturers from China about carrying their bowls. They made some very tempting offers but the temptation was based on price, not quality. I know that making a long term decision based on the short term desire to save money is not a good idea. The relief of saving money fades fast. Hearing the low quality of your singing bowl is an every day reminder of your decision.

Crystal Tones now places their authentication mark on all their bowls to prevent knock offs. Be sure to look for this hologram on every bowl beginning 2010.

This may seem like shameless promotion but those who know me understand that I am sincere in what I say. Omnivos Therapeutics is an authorized distributor and we are able to offer Crystal Tones singing bowls at reduced prices. If you find bowls offered at prices lower than ours prices, then please call that company to confirm that their bowls are from Crystal Tones.

I like your website, you seem to provide some great info. I was reading this and after using crystal bowls professionally after a decade I decided to comment. There seems to be a lot of talk about China these days. From what I know crystal bowls were first introduced decades ago by GE for the semi conductor industry and now are mostly made in China. There are companies that claim made in the USA but from my research this seems to be more hype.

The reason I say hype is that it seems Crystal Tones actually gets there bowls from China too. Doing a simple google search for “crystal tones llc china” brings up many sites with import records showing that they do indeed import their bowls from China. Do you have any further information on this? Do they actually make any of their bowls? Are some of their bowls imported and some made in USA? I would be interested to know if anyone has actually seen their production.

Let me know your thoughts and thanks Michael for the great website I have my eyes and ears set on buying a Paiste gong from you!

      Hi Mary Ann,

Thanks for your patience while I checked into a few things. First, I want you and everyone else to know that my connection with Crystal Tones is as a distributor. I am not their spokesman or head cheerleader. I’ve known and worked with the owners, Paul and William for over 7 years and I have no doubts about their intention to create the best quality crystal singing bowls for health, meditation and healing. This sounds like a lead up and it kind of is. Here is what I have learned.

      1. Crystal Tones does have an LLC in China. This company imports and exports. They import high quality sand and other materials from the US to China. They export some of the Classic Frosted singing bowls. I was not told specifically which sizes are fused in China but it is not all of them. I suspect it is the larger bowls. To reiterate, it is only some of the Classic Frosteds that are made China. The sand and other important materials used to create the Classic Frosted are imported from the US. It is just the fusing or creation of these bowls that is done in China. I have no idea why they chose to do this but my guess is that it was purely for business reasons.

      2. All of the Alchemy Singing Bowls are made in the US, no exception. The crystals, mineral and metals used to make these bowls are imported from around the world. For example, the Charcoal Crystal Singing Bowls are created with charcoal imported to the US from Japan.

That’s all the information I have at the moment. If I learn anything new, I’ll write a new post on the subject.

For me personally, I would be very hesitant to purchase any singing bowl from China because of the reputation the Chinese have made for themselves regarding the quality of what they produce. I’d also really need to know the intentions of the person(s) creating them. As I said, I’ve known the owners of Crystal Tones for some time now and I have no doubts about their intentions. They would not have anything to do with China unless they were personally overseeing the process and the quality of the harmonics were as good or better than what they have done in the US. If that ever turns out not to be true, then I would no longer distribute their products.
